The Loneliest Man in Town
Austrian blues legend Al Cook spends his twilight years in a state of reflection. Surrounded by his treasured possessions, mostly music ephemera assembled over the course of a life in the scene, the widower’s collection brings quiet comfort in a world that seems to have left him behind. When a merciless real estate developer targets his Vienna apartment for demolition, Al is forced to reckon with these fragments of his life and forge a bold new path for himself. Reality and fiction blend as the real-life Cook stars as a fictionalized version of himself. With Elvis Presley as his North Star, Cook helped to lead a rockabilly revolution in 1980s Austria, where his influence is still felt generations later.
