The Girl with the Leica

Seeking refuge in Paris to avoid Nazi persecution, Gerda Taro (born Gerta Pohorylle) connects with a group of like-minded artists and left-leaning radicals and, most importantly, with a camera. Merging her activism with her artistry, she joins up with André Friedmann (soon to be Robert Capa) and establishes herself xas a photojournalist. Past and present collide over the course of one day, her last day in Paris before heading back to the Spanish Civil War front, exposing a kinetic portrait of a fearless and fiercely independent woman of her time.
